One of the best parts about heading home for Christmas, besides food, time with family, and presents, has to be the way it reminds you of where you're coming from. The first reminder I had of where I come from was watching a sort of rolling nap constantly go through my house. I seriously doubt that there are more than 3-4 hours in the day when everyone is awake. I've always been very serious about naps so its interesting to be reminded of where my love of the siesta comes from.
Other favorites include Townie Night, the annual high school reunion at the local bar. Nothing is funnier than mixing people who never had much in common in the first place, adding a lot of alcohol and hoping for a few really funny random hookups and or fights to keep the gossip circuit busy until next year's Townie Night. Questions like who's going to be the drunkest and who are those stainy 40 year olds who didn't realize they're way way too old for this sort of event. It is truly one of my favorite nights of the year.
I'm sure everyone has their own tale of homecoming hilarity. I haven't heard anything about my 5 year High School Reunion but if its anything like Townie Night... I can't wait.
