Top 50 Prospects

17 scouters just tabulated the results of looking at 8,000 minor leaguers to get the Top 50 Prospects for the coming season. Are there any Phillies on the list? No, absolutely not. However, I don't consider this a horrendous issue if the Phillies can do something this coming season. I think the trade for Garcia, a free agent after this season, really says that Gillick expects the Phillies to compete this coming year. Let's move Lieber and solidify the outfield and bullpen. Then, I think we'll be in decent shape. It's interesting to note that only one starting from the opening day '06 rotation (Brett Myers) is projected to be in the group this year. Gillick's tinkering has slowly and surely been changing the look of our beloved boys in red and white. The pay-off as of yet is largely unknown.
