This video is one of the reasons that we have to get out of Iraq. In an area that's only a few miles from the Green Zone there is vicious fighting between Sunni insurgents and the primarily Shi'ite Iraq Army. Soldiers have been accused of executing unarmed Sunni residents of the area, and there is evidence of torture on some of the bodies that have turned up. The insurgents clearly have no problem torturing people, but the fact that the side we support uses terrible tactics like that is frightening and terrible. There's no way to "win hearts and minds" if we are viewed as enablers of an army that tortures and kills residents, no matter if those residents attacked the soldiers in the first place. All that talk of "when the Iraqis step up we will stand down" becomes useless when the Iraqis who step up are torturers.
