Well I didn’t think so, but apparently over 45,000 other people did. An online
petition blasting the movie is asking the production company to remove the film and is demanding “an immediate historical review and quick apology from the responsible people”. Nice try guys but this movie made over 70 million on the opening weekend. Due to some of the ridiculous comments posted by some signatories, I had trouble deciding whether this was a joke or not. Sadly, I think it’s for real. When watching Frank Miller movies, I think it’s always a good to keep a perspective; primarily that it’s shooting to entertain rather than educate. I'm not a qualified historian, but I think the movie lost some of its historical credibility when good old crab hands showed up. Here's one of my favorite comments:
This movie is mere propoganda for the Bush regime. They use Hollywood to
further their agenda and inflame the ignorant western masses. A disgrace of a
movie. I will not watch it. Warner Brother should be ashamed.
Just one more of the colorful activities a person can do with an internet connection and too much time on his hands.
