Reservoir Dogs, Anyone?

I've seen Reservoir Dogs but until I saw this today I had no idea what a man missing an ear actually looks like. There's worse things to lose than an ear, of course, but for me the picture drove home the stakes of this war just a little harder.

PS - No idea if those are earrings or what. Anyone?
