Well, the Phils lost to the Braves in the bottom of the ninth, making it 0-4 against our NL foe so fat this year.
1. The Phils are tied for the MLB lead in outfield assists this year with 11. Learn more here.
2. Hudson was dealing last night, unfazed by the death of both his grandmother and friend Josh Hancock. It speaks to how good Rowand is hitting that he got our first base hit of the evening. He also had a snazzy snag in the outfield on a Kelly Johnson liner in the bottom of the third inning.
3. The Phillies are first in walks and OBP in baseball. How come that's not working out so well for them? Probably things like Abraham Nunez hitting into double plays to end innings. Don't like the call of him starting him YET AGAIN. He barely beat out a throw in his next at bat to avoid a second GIDP.
4. The Phils have won their last five series at Turner Field, although that does now appear to be in jeaopardy.
5. Dating back to last year, J-Roll has 22 HRs in his last 80 games. That's awesome.
6. Andruw Jones said of Lieber that you have to be patient and wait for him to make a mistake and leave one over the plate. Profound, right? Well, Manuel walked Chipper Jones to get to Andruw, who then ended the inning. For all you Andruw Jones fans, he redeemed himself by hitting a walk-off shot in the ninth inning. Wonderful.
7. Skeeter takes a look back at the month of April for our Phillies. Amusing and depressing at the same time.
Hamels takes the mound tonight against Redman. Go Phils.
