Threats Foreign and Domestic

Here are a couple of solid columns I found in the Post today. The first one all too often falls on deaf ears. Reasonable arguments frequently do when pitted against frightening hypotheticals.

The second, while not quite as good, rails against the hypocrisy inherent in much of the energy independence debate. Will missed a real opportunity to strengthen his argument by applying criticism to Democrats AND Republicans alike. He struck a glancing blow at Richard Nixon (that pillar of Republican strength), but otherwise focused on the current legislators in power.

As my parting comment, I promise to write something about baseball and humorous metaphors soon.
