Bonds, Balls, and Nonsensical Desire

And now for a whole bunch of baseball/Phillies related nonsense, all for your reading pleasure.

What's frightening about this article that is supposedly satirizing Barry Bonds' record breaking homerun is that it doesn't really read as funny, but rather as bitter.

Anyways, you may have noticed that we've been having a hard time posting about the Phillies lately on Stain Club, but we're still watching and paying attention. And from the baseball season, here's the big things I want:

1. Chase Utley, Shane Victorino, and Michael Bourn, all back and healthy.
2. Jimmy Rollins to hit another 5 or so triples. He really is killing it this year.
3. Pat Burrell to relive July in the rest of August and in September.
4. The Mets to all collectively crawl into a hole somewhere.
5. The Braves, finding the Mets in their hole, wage war with the New York team.

If someone were to ask me point-blank if I thought the Phillies were going to make the playoffs, I would have to say no. Both the Mets and Braves are too good, and its too much to ask for both of them to fade, or one to fade and all the NL West teams to taper off as well. However, I want nothing more than to be proved wrong.

6. Phillies to make the playoffs.
