Dems Get Trust on Iraq
Apparently there's a poll just out by the Washington Post that shows Americans trust the Democratic congress twice as much as they trust Bush when it comes to Iraq. I tend to think that this is more a function of an absolute lack of trust in Bush than anything substantial that the Democrats have done thus far, but it's reassuring to see people investing even a little bit of trust in an body of government that has ignored them for 6 years or so. If the Dems can prove they deserve this show of good faith then perhaps the ongoing tragedy of this war will finally have an end that is in the foreseeable future. At the very least it's nice to see the Democrats rediscovering their spines, and to see certain Republicans beginning to think for themselves on this issue.
