McCain tied the need for success in Iraq with what he deemed a looming threat in Iran. He dismissed Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as someone "whose name I refuse to learn to pronounce."
Now, who the fuck does McCain think he is? Iran is extremely important strategically for any plan to reform the Middle East, and reforming the Middle East is exactly what McCain and the other warmongers thought the Iraq invasion would do. I'm not saying you have to be his best friend, Senator, but at least realize that he is the leader of a volatile, and fairly powerful, state that's right next to the hellhole we've created in Iraq. Learn how to pronounce his name, and learn about politics in Iran, and just generally educate yourself as much as you possibly can about everything that your senate vote could affect, please, because you somehow got yourself the job of helping to determine the future, and I for one would really appreciate it if you approached it with at least the seriousness of an undergrad whose history midterm is looming.
PS - When people call America arrogant and removed this is exactly what they mean, and not only that, but some of those people resent our perceived arrogance so much that they fly airplanes into our office buildings. I'm no defeatist or appeaser, but maybe we could at least pretend that we're trying to pronounce correctly the names of these goofy foreigners instead of directly refusing to do so. And another thing, if from now on I mispronounced McCain as McStain, would that be ok, you joke?
