One in four (26%) Iraqi adults have had a family relative murdered in the last three years, while 23% of those living in Baghdad have had a family/relative kidnapped in the last three years.
I'm not sure why they wouldn't survey Iraqis about the whole four years of this war, but that's neither here nor there. That first statistic is one of those things that you can whip out whenever someone tries to act like Iraq isn't that bad, or only as bad as Philadelphia. I don't know about you, but a quarter of my acquaintances haven't had family members murdered recently.
