Stain Club has a new mascot, and it is shortstop Jimmy Rollins.
In making this decision, we mean no disrespect to reigning NL MVP Ryan Howard. However, Rollins has clearly stepped forward as the leader of the team, and also has talked up the Phillies. Not only that, but Rollins is backing up his words by being the team’s current strongest offensive contributor, with an NL leader 7 Home Runs. Rollins is playing the game with the kind of heart we love to see here at Stain Club. We eagerly await Howard and Utley getting their swings together, but until then, J-Roll (with help from Rowand and others) is dominating this offense.
