The Phillies are not off to a good start. Winning 2 of the 3 games against Atlanta would have set the right pace for the season. Unfortunately, such was not to be.
1. Ryan Madson needs to get his life together. He's killed us twice so far.
2. Phillies baserunning in the second game was atrocious. Tom Gordon certainly blew the save with McCann's two-run shot (McCann is tearing the ball apart, as a sidenote), but the Phillies should have scored a run. Shane Victorino getting tagged out trying to take third base with Ryan Howard up makes no sense, and Ryan Howard getting thrown out at home was quite unfortunate as well.
3. There was no coming back from the 5th inning slaughter in the Braves series finale. We were manhandled completely.
4. Moyer takes the mound tonight. Offense needs to give him run support, and he needs to pitch a whole lot better than Eaton. Once the offense gets clicking, we should be alright. If we win two games against Florida we're off to a better start than last year (1-5).
