Quick Stains: May 5th

The Phillies are phailing pretty hard, losing back to back games against the Giants. Some upsetting things:

1. Starting Nunez and Helms on the same day. Just why?

2. Madson and Gordon are both on the DL. I guess it's Geary and Myers for the late inning showdowns for the time being.

3. Jamie Moyer's beautiful game ruined by a bases clearing triple. Very disappointing.

4. The Phillies offense. We need to score early and often like we did in the first game against San Fran.

5. Life with a 13-17 ballclub in general. It's just disappointing.

Who's definitely not to blame:

Jimmy Rollins - One of the most productive Phillies every day. So glad to have him as our shortstop.
Shane Victorino - That arm.
Aaron Rowand - Solid O and D
Jamie Moyer
Cole Hamels

It's a short list, but these are, as far as I can tell, the primary reliable Phillies we have left.

Who's doing ok:

Chase Utley - Still streaky, but he can definitely make a difference
Pat Burrell
Wes Helms - A solid pickup
Carlos Ruiz
Jon Lieber - Not terrible since returning to the starting rotation. This could end at any time, though.

Who is to blame:

Adam Eaton - Public enemy number one in Philadelphia right now. Hilariously, he has a winning record.
Bullpen in general - Blowing everything
Ryan Howard - Still not hitting anything
Rod Barajas - Never did hit anything
Freddy Garcia - Shouldn't he be an ace?

Apologies for the negativity of the post. Hopefully I'll have something nice to say if we win tomorrow.
