Supporting the Troops, Bush Style

Well, I suppose our huge budget deficit could be one possible excuse for opposing increases in troop pay and benefits for surviving family members, but other than that I'm pretty much stumped by this. It's clear to everyone by now that Bush is the loudest talker of the talk and the least mobile walker of the walk, but it's truly incredible that he has the nerve to accuse others of failing to support the troops when his office says things like this:
Bush budget officials said the administration “strongly opposes” both the 3.5 percent raise for 2008 and the follow-on increases, calling extra pay increases “unnecessary.”
I really can't wait for when finding out Bush's opinions becomes unnecessary.
