501 and Counting

We start our journey to 1000 posts with one of most recognizable faces on ESPN: Chris Berman. Chris Berman has a history of escapades which have been reported by Deadspin. His most recent one does not have to do with the now-popular cult line, “You’re with me, leather,” but with helping out our youth to grow up big and strong. Case in point, he contributes his voice to this little clip on Sesame Street concerning exercise.

Obviously you have to disregard the color of the puppet that is supposedly him(especially the green and sharp nose), but the hair is dead. Two other noticeable differences: first is the stance of the puppet itself. Rarely do I see Boomer standing up any more, mic in hand, on any of the ESPN shows. He is usually bouncing back-and-forth in his chair behind a table, waving his hands uncontrollably.

And second, the size of the puppet in terms of girth is very generous, in the same manner Andy Reid or Romeo Crennel appear trim and fit when they cross the field at the end of a game of Madden—it appears as if they have been taking Stacker 2 or Hydroxycut. I only wish that they had gone the extra mile to create a booth for Cheese-Day Countdown with Steve Young and Tom Jackson.
