It's a little embarassing that I have yet to talk about the Phils' 10,000th loss. My reasons are two-fold: First, I've been getting rocked down at work pretty hard (stay in school, kids). And the second is that I'm not exactly sure how I feel about big 10,000. Yeah, it's a little embarassing, and yet strangely a mark of pride at the same time. And yes, mostly everyone else that's talked about this has admitted they feel the same way. So, unfortunately, I have little to add to the 10,000 conversation.
In other news, Chase Utley is a monster. How many times have two players from the same team won back to back MVPs? That's the type of season this guy is having.
According to several sources, the Phillies are buyers at the trade deadline. Don't know what we can do here. Our only leverage is Aaron Rowand. Trading Bourn or Victorino is pretty much unacceptable. This team might be "built to win" right now, but the fact is, with our pitching, we can't win. The sad thing is the lack of an assist coming from the minor leagues. More important than the 10,000 loss issue is this: How many more losses until the Phillies are back in October?
