And now another episode of Snacksy the Kid's Super Fans

Figured I’d give my view on the upcoming Bears Colts Super Bowl game. Although my beloved Eagles will not be involved, the game should prove to be an interesting one, not to mention Prince playing the halftime show.

Defense:
Both the Bears and the Colts boast a mean defense. On average the Colts’ defense allowed 332.3 yards per game while the Bears’ defense allowed only 294.1. However of the total yards the Bears allowed, 194.8 of them were in the air. The Bears’ defense is also not well known for a blitz package. I think we will see a largely passing game from the Colts’ offense, and if the Bears’ defense expects to hold their own, they will have to put more pressure on Manning while keeping on Colts’ receivers well covered. In this case I think the edge goes to the Colts.

Offense:
Both the Colts and the Bears have shown comparable numbers in offensive yards, both passing and rushing, through out the 2006 season. Peyton, who, as it seems, has freed himself of the Dan Marino curse, has been known in the past to be somewhat of a choke artist in the post season. Wile the Colts’ offense played a strong game in the second half of Colts Patriots playoff match, the Colts’ defense was the team’s primary savior in the Raven’s game the week before. The final game in the road to the Super Bowl for the Bears ended with the Bears’ offense scoring 21 unanswered points against the Saints in the fourth quarter. Three of the four touchdowns were scored by Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson, both solid running backs. The Bears will fight most of the offensive battle on the ground and will do it well. In the case of the offense, the edge goes to da Bears.

Special teams:
All I can say is why weren’t you this good at Penn State Robbie Gould.

Quarter Backs:
Now brings me to my favorite part, the quarter backs, otherwise known as the Rex Grossman comedy hour. I really don’t think there is any contest here. With Grossman throwing more than twice the number of interceptions as Manning did, the edge clearly goes to Manning. He’s simply a better quarter back and a better leader. I can’t blame Lovie Smith for putting the offense into the hands of Thomas Jones.

All in all I predict the Colts going home with rings; however it will be a hard defensively fought battle.
