Australia Elects Morons Too

The PM of Australia said that al-Qaeda is hoping for Barack Obama to win the presidency. There's so many things wrong with this that I don't even know where to start. First of all, if anything al-Qaeda is hoping for continued or increased tampering in the Middle East because that's their best recruiting tool, and Obama's a lot less likely to piss off Middle Easterners than, say, Bush has been doing for the past six years. Secondly, it's okay for an important political figure in one country to have an opinion on the politics of another country but he should probably avoid blatant partisan bullshit, especially since he knows - being such a student of our government - that Bush won't be around forever and he or his successor will have to deal with a new, and likely Democratic, president. Thirdly, and I have to credit Obama himself for this one, if you really think the war in Iraq is the right way to deal with the myriad problems of the region you should probably commit more than the 1,400 troops they have there. By the way, that's less than half of the number of American troops who have died so far. What kind of pathetic little puppy dog of a man would use his time and his soapbox to spread this nonsense?
