Smarter than the Average Bear

We have long thought of ourselves as the most intelligent organisms on this planet, and should continue to do so; however new evidence seems to indicate that the gap between us and other animals is not as wide as we had imagined.

I found an interesting article which may alter our views on animals which seem, at first glance, pretty stupid. Rats for instance may look fairly unintelligent, and you’d probably be right, but, they are intelligent enough to know when they don’t know the answer to a puzzle. Even animals we recognize as smart, like dolphins and apes, are proving their intelligence in ways not previously documented.
